I did some concrete work around my house this week. $150/yd for exterior was $115/ 2yrs ago. The lumber for the forms was $23ea - 2x6x12.
Getting out of hand in a hurry.
The guys that just poured my porch had to pay $70 for 3/4” finish grade plywood sheet because that was the only plywood between 11 stores and 5 lumber yards which wasn’t purchased. 2x6x12 $28 a stick. Mud was $170/yd.
Multi-million dollar residential projects are months behind because of building supply shortages and house prices and rent are through the roof. My little 1200sf house just hit $600k. I’m delayed 3 mo. Because of paint shortages on getting the house painted.
I’m thinking that the better rate of return would be to buy lotto tickets rather than to invest in my house right now.
