For me personally, there is no big love for kia. My daughter who just graduated highschool wanted it. Sold a fantastic 2014 4 door jeep Wrangler she was driving. All I can say is "girls". I will admit that the Telluride is surprisingly nice. And pretty quick. It has a lot of features that my wife's Platinum Expedition Max had and more. The Telluride is a $50k plus vehicle though. Plus I think Kia shipped a buttload of those things to the States before all the shutdowns started, so they are more available when many other brands are not. The Seltos she got is a sporty little suv I have to admit. I do like the all wheel drive feature, and turbo is pretty quick for a little motor. But damn, its a kia! Do have to commend them on having a 10 yr/100,000 mile warranty though!

Anyone shopped lumber in the last few weeks¿
$8 here at the box stores for a 2x4x8. Used to be $2.50.
We just removed a planter bed to build a 6x10 shed but lumber costs went from $500 to $1100 in 3 months.......

It's nuts.
Lumber futures are trending downward though so hopefully it will back off a bit soon. I don't see it going back to pre-pandemic levels though, doesn't make sense from a business standpoint for the sawmills now that they know everyone is going to keep buying it even at absurd prices.

Bryan,
Chuds and I bought from the same dealer, just different locations, and I totally agree with his comments.
I did a lot of research when putting my deal together, even going as far to reach out to some industry contact to find out what shipping should cost from Tennessee to Alberta.
I also used seedealercost.com as a baseline to try to figure out what the boat should "cost" the dealer in USD, and then built the price up to include currency exchange, customs, shipping, PDI and of course margin, and ultimately got a number that was only a few thousand off the dealer asking price, and we negotiated from there.
I did also place a deposit in Sept 2020, when they were offering the highest discounts for a 2021 order (multiple dealers told me this)2021 Moomba Mondo

I honestly don’t know how I would navigate the 2022 buying season. Just thankful I was able to buy a 2021 with normal discount pricing.

I bought my '18 with full intention buying a truck the next year ('19). Then life happened and I didn't. Then 2020 Happened and I didn't. Now '21 happened, and I'm not.
As far as materials go, I don't buy any lumber, but I'm highly sensitive to steel prices (we build custom machines, shameless plug: http://www.Kinemetrix.com ) . I had a project that got put on ice in early '20 just come back to life. I re-quoted and had to hit my customer for about 30% more. Steel shot up 70% in 2020, and has continued another 11% in the last 2 months. Getting parts and sub-systems (robots, actuators, controls) out of Europe and Asia is still a crapshoot. It's a crazy world to be doing business in right now!2018 Moomba Craz | Autowake 2.0, Zero-Off, G6 Pumps | Captain Blue/Dark Graphite/Silver Flake | Enzos + Lead

The guys that just poured my porch had to pay $70 for 3/4” finish grade plywood sheet because that was the only plywood between 11 stores and 5 lumber yards which wasn’t purchased. 2x6x12 $28 a stick. Mud was $170/yd.
Multi-million dollar residential projects are months behind because of building supply shortages and house prices and rent are through the roof. My little 1200sf house just hit $600k. I’m delayed 3 mo. Because of paint shortages on getting the house painted.
I’m thinking that the better rate of return would be to buy lotto tickets rather than to invest in my house right now.
