How did you like the manual flow on your LSV compared to a suck gate?
Been considering building my own tab system for my XLV then found this thread and curious if the surf flow would work just as good?

Manual flow on your LSV compared to a suck gate > similar results. They both work.

Tabs work on the older model hulls, but you are talking about a big investment of $ for not that much gain. I know b/c I put tabs on my previous Supra.

The modern hulls (both Moomba and Supra) work better with Tabs - more engineering. So it makes it hard to compare waves from OLD vs NEW hulls with tabs.

I have 2015 MOJO with flow 1.0 (manual) and I have went 2 seasons now thinking about upgrading to Evo Tabs, GSA, Waveland etc. For me it the ease of switching side since half of our family are regular and half goofy. I only have the 3 pump system so changing side is a 10-15 minute change. Not a big deal but it would nice to not have to move lead also.

I think it would be nice to use "Go Home" mode when full and need to get to the dock whiteout having to dump ballast just to refill later.

However, cost and length of time keeping this current boat has made me hesitate. Spend $4k on tabs or invest $4k into an upgrade. Also, to mimic what MJH says, will it make the wave "better"? That I don't know and would hate to spend the $ and have the same results.

All that being said. I would use a suck gate over flow 1.0 or upgrade to automated tabs like flow 2 or gsa. Flow 1 came with my boat but using my buddies suck gate was actually better. You can place the gate where you want for boat depth and not stuck to 1 location on the hull.

Wave on my older Supra was good with Wakeland Tabs or the Suck Gate. $4K better - nope. Tabs had a little more push and a different shape on the surf lip.

Tabs had to have a lot of weight or the wave stunk. Suck gate works at any weight.

Tabs were also not install > push a button > instant wave. It took time to get the hang of weight with different passengers. New boats are like that - Supra or Moomba. Suck gates are also pretty easy to dial in.

Tabs were nice to also use wakeboarding with weight. You could plane faster then they would auto-retract at 15mph.

$1500 installed isn't terrible. Beats paying 4K for tab system, that in all honesty had not impressed me at all. I rode new Craz on demo and loaded with bags all around it was no better than my LSV with flow. It was actually smaller.

Sure would love to know who (machine shop) made the Flow for Skiers Choice.

Sure looks like something that could easily be 3D printed

wakeland mfg is the one who designed the flow system for SC and the swell and the auto flow 1 and 2.0 . Doubt you will get patent info from them.

thanks for the tip about wakeland Joe.

That's what I need to know.

Actually Matt Brown is the one who led the Moomba R&D team that designed the flow.
