Boatmate trailer axle failure
I know there’s some other threads on this, but just a heads up if you own an 2008 or so Moomba. Our boat generally sits on a lift at our cabin and is only trailered to get winterized in the fall. I know it’s 12 years old, but it’s in perfect shape, stored indoors year round. We had the torsion axle fail, resulting in a $300 tow and close to $2000 with shipping for an axle replacement part. Worse yet it’s been 3 weeks and the part isn’t even in yet. I’ve been shopping a little for a new Moomba or Mastercraft, curious if there’s a better brand trailer or if you can trust a new Boatmate trailer?

I have a 08 also. Is there anything we can do to prevent it from failure?

Makes me mad. They charged me for my axle and I replaced it myself. I didn't get any warranty

I received nothing other then a snarky email response from Boatmate. Really disappointed with them. They suggested I didn’t maintain my trailer and it was my fault. There is no maintenance to perform on a torsion axle. My trailer is stored indoors year round, it’s so clean you could eat of it. It’s stays at our cabin and generally is only towed to take the boat to get winterized. Think they know they have a faulty and potentially dangerous part on that years trailer.

Boatmate trailer axle failure
I wouldn’t get too upset about a $500 axle replacement on a 12 year old trailer.
You can swap it out yourself. Not that hard.
All said, in better economic times, a company may be more generous, but you are out of warranty. Companies are tight right now.
