    The slow spring in Texas has caused the ramp funnies to happen in May instead of April. This took up an entire lane and we are not even sure how they got there. But the lower unit was sitting sideways

    Oh it’s been a good season so far. I wish I could have gotten pics last weekend, but I was too busy trying to keep my boat outta the mayhem. Let me paint this picture for you...
    A guy in a brand new F250 backed the trailer for his brand new Yamaha boat so far in the water the tailgate was half in so that the bow roller was 6” outta the water. He did great getting to the bow roller, but while trying to hook it the boat floated sideways over the fender and got hung between the roller and the 6” of exposed trailer guide (which I’m surprised he didn’t run over earlier).
    He proceeded to unhook the bow, and try to power and turn back into the roller which sent his new boat up and into his brand new paper plated tailgate, crushing it of course. 4 people finally showed up to help push him back and around the trailer guide, and pull the trailer forward the 800’ it needed. Once he got on the bunks, he tried to power load up with the wheel cut and swings the nose of the boat into a guys chin trying to help guide him up. He got pissed and left the guy to finish on his own.
    Poor guy...

    Sometimes it amazes me you don’t have to get a license to do this stuff...

    We took delivery of the Craz this Thursday at Denney marine in Albany KY. I'm still absolutely flabbergasted by both the boat itself and the fact that I own something like this. It still feels like a dream! We put an hour and a half on it on lake Cumberland Thursday before getting sidetracked by my baby sister's wedding Saturday. Back at it for a few hours on Laurel Lake in KY Sunday evening.

    I have bumped into a couple of issues that I'll need to talk to my dealer about, and one N00b (to a new new boat, this is my 4th inboard) mistake;
    The water temp readout is WAY off, and the water depth just reads "---".
    20180513_195959.jpg
    I'd bet you beer money that they're related. Also the electric surge brake lockout isn't working - I've had (actually added myself) this on my last 2 trailers, so I know what to expect... I'l probably spend 10 minutes troubleshooting that one on my own before involving the dealer.

    The bigger hiccup is that the boat came in 4" taller than the TWO that I measured at a boat show. No how no way it fit's in an 8' door. I was mega-thorough measuring, then it was confirmed by Matt the Moomba brand manager at the Cincinnati boat show. It took taking the brackets off of the tower (not just the quick disconnect, but the next step up the bracket chain), deflating the tires and backing it in with a 6" drop hitch (stock F150) to get it in my 8'1" door.

    the n00b mistake was - first not checking the air bleed valves on the bags before filling the first time, then not noticing until the bilge pump kicked on. related to that, not checking to make sure the bags were laid out to fill without supervision - the port side back filled up under the carpeted trim inside of the hatch and popped the screw out of the fiberglass! Easy fix, I'm just glad that those screw sticking out of the back of the panel didn't find their way into the bag!

    Last, this Mission Reef Mat inflatable mat is on sale right now and pretty damn cool! CostCo has a similar product for about $100 cheaper, but the Mission seems to pack up tighter, so I sprung for it for my girlfriend's 30th birthday. The Reef mat in addition to the Tuko towels we have from them and the Delta wake shaper that I let go with the old boat make us real Mission Boat Gear poster children!
