Price for a Vinyl Replacement
Got a Keyston book. This one has all the carbon and silvertex patterns I like. Prices are around $15 a yard.

For the DIY interior, what kind of sewing machine are you using? Did some reading on other forums and the consensus was pretty much that you need an old school one with metal gears that won't strip and a heavy duty motor. Not sure I'd want to tackle a DIY upholstery job myself, but then again?
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

Save the old covers- have an upholstery shop use them for patterns and make new covers. Do all the removal, stripping, staple removal, cleaning, etc. yourself. Then install the new covers yourself. You'll save a ton but still have professionally made covers. Worked for me on the Outback.

So far I have seen 2500 (local dude) to 4500 (Local shop). I believe that includes the removal and installation. CopyCat will not get back to me, and given what little I can find of them on the internet I am a bit nervous to dgo with them.

Best tools/techniques for staple removal? or just needle nose pliers, patience, and case(s) of beer...
Most of my interior should come out fairly easily. I'm wondering if it would be worth trying to improve/replace the foam cushion under the vinyl or if that is pushing it.
Any pics of the cushions with the vinyl removed- anybody? So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

If your foam is bad it should be replaced. Usually it's fine if the vinyl hasn't deteriorated to the point where the foam is exposed. You will need lots of beer.
It looks like the silvertex pattern is double the price per yard than any of the others so more like $32. I quoted wholesale prices too.
No idea about the sewing machine but I can probably score you a loaner.
Retail for a redo from $2500-$4500 is right in line. If the guy for $2500 does good work in a timely manner I would do it.
I will have pics of my foam soon, but not this weekend
If you want to get my wholesale pricing on the vinyl let me know.-Jake

That's some nice material there. I don't see why you would have to replace the foam. Usually new covers is all you need unless you have one particular spot that was damaged or something.
