How much gas did you go through this year - 2012
Curious how much petrol you all have put through your boats this year - YTD. If you keep track of it that is. I'm done for the year so my final tally is in:
$904.56
(end of June - first of Oct)
Figure an average around $4.20 a gallon, that's 215.3 gallons.
~38.5 hours this year.
~5.6 gallons per hour.
~$23.50 per hour
Money well spent!
I know my total for last year was A LOT more but I also had a lot more hours.
So who's burned the most?So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

If I go by your figures and substitute our average gas price of maybe $3.80 at 5.6 hours per gallon for 70 hours I come up with $1489.60 from May - Sept...definitely going to keep that figure from the misses! Good times for sure though!

Yea, about @3.85 x 55 hrs @ 5 gal. per hour is around $1058.75. Still cheaper than movie tickets every week if you throw in popcorn and soda at theater prices. Now, let's see, I do have to factor in about 5 beers per hour x 55 hrs. at about $1 a beer = $275 This is sounding more and more economical all the time. Maybe I'll take up fishing too!

guess I'm going to have to track this next year...
My boat sat at the dealer for sale for over half the season and didn't start going to the lake again until around the 15th of July, so I was only able to hit the 25hr mark..
that being said, my math based on the bergonomics table listed above shows $490 based on 25 hrs and a gas average around $3.50. might be a tad low on the average fuel price, but it's close..
now in regards to the beer consumption, normally I'd say kane is way off of our average, but I slowed down a little this year not wanting to trailer a new boat drunk.... YET....'06 Supra Launch 20SSV-gone but never forgotten

It wasn't 5 beers/hr. It was 5 beers per engine hour in a full day.

I suck at math but save my receipts for the fuel tax rebate. love me some TX boys, did y'all see the weather planner I threw up earlier this morning? 90+ today! I'll run through the receipts and post up the results of fuel consumption but my season isn't over just yet
