New Mastercraft tower for 2011
Stopped in the Mastercraft dealership, as I was stopping by the lake to put in my new thru-hull fittings, and had an interesting conversation with their salesperson.
Here is a picture of their new "push button electronic tower".
Below is a link to the facebook photo's of their 2011 lineup.

The guy said it made him very nervous, but he had faith in MC that it would be a quality tower. Man, when does a ski boat quit being a ski boat? All these fancy nancy gadgets. I wonder what that added to the cost. I am sure the owners are thrilled that MC found another way to drive up the cost of their boats.Last edited by WaterBullDawg1980; 07-30-2010 at 07:29 PM.

Here is a shot of the new Ilmor engine.
Here is a link to their website. http://www.ilmor.com/marine/marine-engines.html
I am going to take an educated guess and say that Jack Roush has something to do with them using these engines.

Looks more like a "Sausagecraft" than a Mastercraft cruising for high school chicks.

That tower looks like the one that Kenny Powers would out on his jet ski.
For every positive I see in a mastercraft, there is usually something negative to balance it out. Dolla dolla bills y'all.

As awful as that tower looks, Mastercrafts IMO are great boats.... have been towed by an '07 X-15, loved it.... sweet, sweet ride! thagt Ilmor engine is a V-10!?!?! 725 horsepower, that is crazy.... MC is alwys trying to raise the bar.

You raise it high enough I prefer to duck under it than continue trying to leap over it.

ilmore uses a v-10 viper block for their high hp engines. they have gotten some rave reviews from the powerboating guys and it's supposed to be a real solid engine. not quite sure that you need 6-700hp in even the x-45, but I suppose there's guys out there that will have to have it..
mastercraft and ilmore are under the same corporate umbrella, so makes sense if they can justify the high $$..'06 Supra Launch 20SSV-gone but never forgotten
