Default I may have crossed over to the dark side....

Well maybe not crossed over lol, but I added a little brother (older) to the Craz. I picked up a 92 MC Prostar 190 a little bit ago and am looking forward to getting it on the water and see how it skis. It has 850 hrs on it and the interior and exterior are in near perfect condition. The whole interior was completely redone about 9 yrs ago and still looks brand new. The engine needs a little work to get it in great shape. I need to rebuild the carb for altitude (the boat came from sea level and I'm at 6,000 ft), new starter, new transmission mounts. While I'm in there I will replace the hoses, cap/rotor, plugs, wires, electronic ignitions, and I'm sure a bunch of other stuff just to make sure it's in good running condion. Here are a few pictures from last night when I finally got it out of the garage to wash it. Sorry, the lighting was not very good.

Cool. Funny thing after driving a big heavy wake boat, these ski boats are like sport cars. Acceleration and tight turns.

But in the long run, it's still hard for me accept the hump in the middle of the ski boats.

Instead of rebuilding the carb (easy enough) I would see if an EFI kit can be had for the long term. Might not be worth the coin but at least worth the 1hr of Google searching.

Also, I didn't see a platform. Hoping you got the old school teak version. I love that look of the ski boats.

    Awesome pickup. Have fun!

Congrats! Sharp looking boat you have there! We tried buying a cross over boat at first before selling our ski boat and are so happy we kept it.

I found it in Tennessee. After debating if I wanted to make a 3,400 mile round trip to pick it up and tow it back I decide to just have it shipped. The thought of blowing a tire or bearing and being stuck in the middle of nowhere was enough to justify a little extra $ to ship it.

I've read a little about people doing EFI and to be honest i don't know a lot about them. I'll start with the carb for now and see how it goes.

Yea it has a beautiful teak deck that is in great condition. It really does complete the look of these old ski boats.

Nice find. If anything, go through it, enjoy it for a while and then flip it. I've contemplated doing that a time or two. A neighbor down the road flips a few fishing boats here and there.
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?
