Default 2015 Moomba Mojo Winterization Help

    Good evening everyone,

Unfortunately, it's getting to that time of year where I need to put the boat up for the winter. I was hoping I could get some help on a question I have. I know how to drain the system by pulling the plugs from the V-drive and disconnect the small tubes that are connected to the manifolds. I also pull the cover off the impeller and the one drain plug on the heat exchanger. Where I struggle and am looking for advice or tips is the J shaped hose that comes off the heat exchanger. I've seen images of other indmar raptors that have a blue plug that's on the hose for draining. My does not have that helpful plug, and it's an absolute nightmare to try and remove it from one side and suck the water out of it. I'm really hoping for some advice on this one, I've seriously contemplated taking it somewhere for winterization just because of this one spot. Any ideas and advice would be much appreciated!

    Thank you everyone!

Does that model have an anode on the side of the heat exchanger? Towards the bottom?

Yes it does, I remove that to drain the exchanger. But all the pictures I’ve seen there’s suppose to be a blue wing nut plug that’s on that tube, but I don’t have one.

Does your manual have the blue plug on the J-Hose? I assume Indmar changed the engineering over the years if you are looking at a current pic vs a 2015 model.

Can you pull the hose off the bottom of the impeller housing and push it to lower point in the hull to remove any water?

From the 2015 manual - hose under letter A from the water pump.

From the 2018 manual - hose under letter #4 has the blue plug from the water pump / bottom of the heat exchanger.

You are referring to the correct hose im talking about. It’s really difficult to remove it and get it back on to the impeller housing. I’m sure thats why they went to the blue plug in later models.

You are probably correct. From both diagrams it's a low spot in the system, so I would assume it would hold water.
With my SL, I have a surf locker, so that area is relatively easy to get to, just need long arms.

Are you planning on running any pink antifreeze in the system?
Some people do, others do not.
Some people who use it will leave it in, others will use it and then drain it (which is what I ?think? the Indmar manual lists).

In the past I haven’t run any anti freeze through the system. I store it in a building that’s not heated during the winter so it’s somewhat out of the elements.

That is odd your 2015 does not have the blue plug on the J pipe.

My 2015 has the plug in the J pipe.
