Starter fuse blowing
Hey Fella's I have a question about my 2015 SE450. When I go to crank my boat for the first time it blows my 20 amp starter fuse. I had a another one on hand and installed it and the boat fired right up. I then turned the engine off and went to crank it again and it blew the starter fuse a 2nd time. I then place another 20 amp fuse and it cranked right up again I then drove boat around lake for about 30 minutes then shut engines off and boat cranked with no problem. I shut engine on and off another 3 times and no problems with blowing fuse. Does anyone have a idea what is going on with blowing the starter fuse. While running the boat on the lake for 30 minutes it the engine ran great. Please advise.

I would investigate the starter solenoid and related circuit. (the actual starter is much higher current).

I do know on my 2015 Mondo the starter is on the bottom. I had really bad intermittent issues with starting. Had to move the throttle into gear and back to neutral and find the sweet spot before it would start sometimes. Finally took it to the dealer & they said it was wet (well no shit it’s wet it’s mounted under the motor in a boat) they had to pull the whole motor to fix it.

I don’t think that’s the starter fuse. If it’s only 20 amps, that’s for something else.
Generally starters are not fused, the cables run directly to the starter solenoid. Most starters for a V8 draw around 250amps give or take the motor/tune etc.
I’d trace those wires and see where they’re going as a start.
Where is this fuse that’s blowing?Overkill is underrated

I have the same problem with my 2001 Mobius . It is blowing a fuse every time I turn the key . And boat will crank but will not start up It is not priming or something with the fuel pump .
