Default 2001 Mobius V Swim Platform Fix

We have had our 2001 Mobius V since 2001. Love the boat. Surfing is the activity of choice as wakeboard get is becoming too hard on body parts. A couple of years ago the bottom bolts on the swim platform pulled out. As others have written, the platform bottom bolts are lag bolts screws into the transom structure. Over time the threds strip and the bolts can fall out. There is no access to this area of the transom as it is beneath the interior floor surface. My first attempt at a fix was to cast new threads by using chopped fiberglass and stainless lag bolts. the idea is to recast the threads by pushing the chopped glass and resin in the original holes. Then spray no stick cooking spray on the bolt threads and screwing them in. 24 hrs later remove the bolts and the threads are formed. This worked for about 1 season. The I put brass thread inserts in the lower holes. This lasted for about 1 more season. So this time I went at it a more intrusive way. This should be the permanent fix.

First my friend and I cut an access ports on the port and starboard side of the boat flooring.

Then we removed the foam using a wood hole paddle bit.

Using aluminum plates we used stainless bolts and nuts for the lower bracket holes. We used loctite on the nuts.
