What's in the box??
Warthog 6x6?
1,400hp Raptor?
Massaged Shelby?
.....headed home for the day, too bad I can't follow him to Sealy.
I'd love to play Stig for the day on H's test track.

Sealy, Texas.....home of Hennessey Performance.
John started with Vipers, then Vettes, CTS-V, Mustangs, VelociRaptors, etc.
He even had a model back in the day (Venom GT) built off a stretched and widended Lotus Elise chassis with a TT LS1.
So besides being a tuner, Hennessey makes hypercars. The latest is built completely in-house, the VenomF5.

Hennessy is not as well respected in the performance world as his advertisements in the car magazines claim.
I am sure he has some first class talent working for him, example John Heinricy.....
But John is Shady as shit.

Yeah, I think the expansion to Huntington Beach and the Tuner school created a lot of self-inflicted wounds.
I have a neighbor with C7 ZR1 that has a stage 2 package on it. He's pleased as punch and loves his car....but I know some folks haven't had as pleasant an experience with HP.
I don't have a dog in the fight regarding shady business dealings but I can respect the passion for cars and performance.
I was a kid seeing Hennessey's Viper on the cover of Motor Trend in the 80s. It was on my wall with a poster of the Scarface style garage full of exotics titled "Motivation for a Higher Education".

not gonna lie.. if handed the keys to ANYTHING Hennessey i'd gladly take it for a spin.
spending my own cash tho, that would not be my first stop for performance machines.'06 Supra Launch 20SSV-gone but never forgotten

Most of the Hennessy packages for production cars are so poorly thought out and grossly under tuned. In other words, they run like crap at the track, but seem just fine on the street.
Just think it’s all marketing and no bite. Lingenfelter is only marginally better. So much safe reliable power being left on the table just to get a Hennessy or lingenfelter badge.
I am very familiar and have fixed a few Cadillac CTSV Hennessy packaged vehicles.
In fact, my tuner tunes all of John Heinricy’s personal cars, they both worked for GM performance division until GM disbanded it when John left.

there are so many better tuners out there....
personally I'd look independent....
sure hennessey and ling have the name and can strap 1000hp into a car pretty easily but there's better parts out there if you take the ala carte option with parts from different companies and find a real tuner shop.
gotta say tho both built a pretty big empire on what they did and from a business perspective, can't fault either one for their successes. for the midlife crisis guy that wants a turnkey hot rod to show off they fit the bill. wanna take it and actually use it at at track? go buy a shelby or an SRT if you want something from a big name tuner.
one thing I have always found interesting. ford svt/svo and dodge srt have had successes. gm performance has never really been at the same level. wonder why they never took it inhouse.'06 Supra Launch 20SSV-gone but never forgotten
