There is only one island that I beach on, because it has a steep drop off and the beach is soft sand. But you have to know what the tide is doing. I generally go back every 30 min to an hour to check on the boat and pull it up or bump it back as need be. I would not feel comfortable in beaching it and walking away for the day. On all other islands, provided wave action is minimal or non-exisitent, I drop the main anchor off the bow & back it up to the island and take the small anchor from the stern out to the beach. You still have to know your tides and wind. This is the way we do it when we camp out over-night and the boat does great, even in strong tides.
