I was pointed to this thread a few times. I asked chatGPT to summarize everything goose has said in this thread. I've attached the pdf document in a zip file as that was the easiest way to attach it rather than a link.

Hopefully, this is okay to post to give people a brief summary rather than reading through 500 posts... if not I'll take away the file.

I just purchased lead and hoping it will help my situation next weekend on our next trip. Stock ballast on my boat was not enough to get a consistently good wave with 2 families on board. Also, don't underestimate how much gas weighs especially full vs empty on the boat!
