Then I checked the side of my boat for any damage as the carabiner popped back and hit it but thankfully no chips or anything. Was lucky it didn’t knock some gel off or worse the carabiner come off as I’m tossing it and the anchor hit the gunnel LOL.

I’m going to see if I can borrow a magnet from a guy at the lake or see what the diver may charge to get it. I have the coordinates in the general area and our waters are clear in that spot so it shouldn’t be hard for a diver to find. Not sure it will be cheaper than buying a new one but worth a shot. This also made me realize I need to carry a backup anchor of some sort because we just had to find a calm cove to float in but constantly had to relocate due to winds and waves.
Ah!!! Now I understand. Total bummer dude, but thankfully nobody hurt and boat is ok.
