Bow stop for boat lift

Anyone here ever successfully make a bow stop for your boat lift? my dealer wants over $1200 for one. Thinking of making one myself for about $60. Any designs or pics you can share?

Not sure if this would work for your application, but I had my lift modified last year to allow it to be cantilevered out of the water for the winter.

By doing this, I was able to take advantage of the cross member and move it away from the lift and then added trailer guide poles to the cross member for a bow stop.

Works great.
