Yea I’d say go ahead and fill it up! The timers cut the pumps off automatically at the number of minutes runtime you set. It takes a few times to get the set time adjusted properly but once you do, you can flip the switches on and it’ll stop filling once full, and the opposite when emptying. The added benefit is when draining you can’t forgot to turn the pumps off and burn up a impeller.
The timers essentially make the ballast system more modern so you aren’t having to monitor the bags when filling/draining. Without them the filling part is easy because it’ll start peeing out of the vent when full, but draining you need to keep an eye (or ear) out to prevent possible impeller damage.
Myself and the crew being able to chill and relax was worth the added cost to me.
