Batteries...holy cow
so my truck is in need of new batteries (yes multiple) and it's been a while since i've shopped car batteries... holy moly. $180+ each.
It got me to thinking... i have a crap load of lead acid batteries to deal with...
2 in my truck
2 in boat
1 in wife's suv
7 in golf cart!!!
1 in tractor (this one is amazing and can sit literally months w/o issue... of course i just jinx'd myself)
1 on camper
4 on various atv/dirtbikes (not including deer feeder batteries, lol)
and the only ones i pro-actively maintain are the golf cart and boat. always on a charger when not in use.

$180 is a bit steep for car batteries. the last one I bought was a few years ago and it was $90 for a honda car. had to replace an interstate deep cycle this spring in the boat and it was only $105.
most atv/mc batteries are in the $35-40 range that I have ever seen.
now those 6volt golfcart batteries can get pricey real quick..
hmm and lets see....
1 in the truck
1 in the gennie car
1 in the winter beater
3 in the boat
1 in the crotchrocket
and that doesn't even begin to touch all the remotes in the house'06 Supra Launch 20SSV-gone but never forgotten

AutoZone was best deal i could find locally for group 94R, @$187(x2). +$18(x2) core charge (which i'd get back) + ~8% Tax. = ~$440 (before core charge rebate)
Luckily we have a goodyear service center in our parking garage at work that will replace them for $379 including labor...while i "work"
That's twice they've hooked me up downstairs. They replaced a transfer case seal for me a month or so back for pretty cheap. and convenient as heck.2016 Craz

I didn't think about how many batteries but how many pistons I own between all of the WaveRunners, boats, RC's, cars, lawn care products and so on. It is a lot of pistons! Its a good think they pretty much take care of themselves.
You do hit those expensive batteries once you start installing AGM. They do last and hold a charge for ever.2007 XLV Gravity Games

Used to have 2 more in the camping trailer, but that's gone now. Core charges annoy me. When I bought an additional battery for the boat I didn't have a core to give them. So I bought a new motorcycle battery off Ebay for $27 (no core charge on it) and gave them the old battery out of my motorcycle to get the $12 core charge back. It was funny giving them a tiny motorcycle battery when buying a big ass group 29 deep cycle.2008 Moomba Mobius XLV. Now you know why I'm satisfied with one battery in the boat. I have "things" that need at least 11 batteries and 26 tires so I work hard to keep them in good shape but time is a killer no matter how well they are taken care of. I might try the Costco Interstate golf cart batteries in the motor home next year but I wasn't a fan of the old Costco Johnson Controls batteries.
