2005 Mobius LSV Surf Weighting
New guy here, just picked up a gently used 2005 Mobius LSV (upgrade from 1985 Ski Nautique), and I'd like to do some surfing. I've searched online but there's so much conflicting into out there so I'm hoping someone could suggest how I setup ballasts for the best wave. I have 400# in each corner now, and the factory bag in the hull. I know I need some weight in the bow and my thought is to add more in the surf side rear locker. Help?

800 in each locker and at least 400 in the bow.

Search ghetto gate , easy 50 buck mod will help that hull a great deal. 750 in the rear , 400 in the locker and 400 to 500 in the bow ,

I run 750 in the rear, 400 in the locker, 300 in the bow and with 4 people in the boat the wave is decent. My son will add a 400 sack on the seat when it's only him and 1 other person in the boat.

750/900 in each of the rear lockers -- if running listed, then only fill one side but if running with one of the gates that Joe mentioned then you can fill both and run level.

YOu guys are great, thanks! I'm thinking I'll run the 500# bow sac under the seats (understand that I won't be able to fill it 100%), then get an 1100# fly high for the surf side and fill it as full as I can, put the 2 400# sacs in the other rear corner. Looking at the ghetto gate or using the skateboard ramp method.

750 totally fills the locker so 1100's would be overkill.

Agreed... I don't think my 750 even could get all the way full. When I had the '05, I ran a 750 port locker, 400 port seats, ski locker full, and 250 in the bow, and I was happy with the wave.... I wish I had known about ghetto gates back then seeing what it's done for my '13's wave. I was never comfortable listing the '05 so much with the low freeboard. Would have been much better to run nearly evenly weighted.
