Any RC Boat Owners?

I have an older Traxxas Villain that I tinker with, but its a little big to keep on the boat. I've been thinking of ordering a ProBoat Impulse 9 to replace the Villain, but they are so new there isn't a whole lot of info out on them yet.

What does everyone else have?

Just nimh, was going to convert to lipo and brushless, but then decided to scale back to reality, lol

lipos have come way down in prices over the last couple years. I couldn't imagine running anything else. I run a modified slow stick on floats and threw the power plant out long ago. brushless and lipos all the way. I buy my stuff the Grayson Hobbies on line.

Not enough freeboard with two 6-cell batteries - even on perfectly smooth water... (not the first time this has happened either) Need to switch over to Brushless and Lipo.



I grew up tinkering with RCs (RC10, Tamiya Hornet, few other scratch builts) and my son has the same bug. Others in the garage at home include:

Traxxas Stampede
HSP 1/16 4wd stadium truck
HPI Racing Nitro MT 4wd
Traxxas 2wd Nitro something + 2 more chassis/scrappers for spare parts
I made a deep V fiberglass hull in HS shop about 32" long and had planned to set it up with Nitro, but 20+ years later it still sits empty.

Cool stuff. Now is there something like that to pull a tube on a creek, so I don't have to paddle by the calm areas?
