Rotating Board Rack Suggestions for XLV
Just spent the past week on vacation at the lake. I'm getting tired of removing the wakeboards every time we tie up with our friends or dock the boat. It's just a matter of time before I forget to remove the boards and tear them up. Has anyone upgraded to rotating racks for the rad-a-cage tower? I have the Z-Cargo Bimini plus tower speakers so I need a rack that will attach a little lower on the tower or rotate up/down as well as inboard/outboard. I don't want to order the racks and find out they won't work well. Anyone with some good suggestions will be much appreciated!

Moombadaze has the ones from Monster and I think they are fantastic! Solid build, can install anywhere on the tube, fully adjustable and the release is a handle instead of a pin. I hate the pins in mine.

It looks like the pivoting racks on Monster only come in a black powder finish. I was wanting an aluminum finished racks. Saw some on Aerial but they're $430 apiece. Pretty pricey! Anyone with any experience with the Aerial racks?

I ordered mine from Aerial and they are great. I too have the Z5 Bimini, and I have 2 on each side.

gonracn,
You got any pics you could post? Since you live in Wichita, I could even come and look at them if you didn't mind.2009 Moomba XLV Gravity

I'm also interested in these...I still haven't found a good solution for racks that rotate all the way into the boat....I see Aerial says "nearly 180" degrees....can you help confirm what nearly is? if it's 165 or 170 that might work for me but my main goal is to get the boards all the way into the boat for pulling into the lift...have already messed up several racks pulling in on rough days. See attached pics...I tried a rack from Liquid Audio Sounds here in NC....didn't work for one reason...although they swivel into the boat far enough, they don't work on the rad-a-cage due to the curvature of the tube...in the position shown in these photos there is no issue...but as soon as you move the rack up the tube to get to a position I would want them, the way the hinge is designed it was impacting the tube so that I couldn't get the boards parallel to the water...so had to return these and still in search of a good, reasonably priced solution...swivel hinge.jpgrack too low.jpg

I'd like to get the new racks a little higher up on the tower. Aerial says you can adjust them to horizontal. Not sure how much. I'm worried I'll be smacking the boards into my Z-Cargo bimini also. From the pic, it looks like your bimini is a little higher up than the cargo bimini.

Roswell.
They have a swivel system that attaches to the stock Board Racks, which I believe came with yor boat.
Not sure if you can get them in the States or Canada only.

Here is a picture of them mounted on my boat.

Best that I've got as I've never really taken pictures of them before.
Hope that helps.

The stock racks on my boat are just the tines that are indivually mounted on the cross member of the tower next to the Moomba loga. I'd still have to buy new racks plus the swivel mount. What I see on you boat is exactly what I'm looking for though. That's the location on the tower that I'd like to mount it also. I could put my surf board on the top so when I swing it inside a wakeboard boot wouldn't hit my Z5 bimini. Would probably have to remove a wakeboard if it was on the top but that would still be better that having to take all 4 boards off.
