Ed, I am five Hrs away from Pittsburgh, but i am pretty sure most northerners will have their boats in storage by Halloween...

Oh, c'mon...when I lived in Pgh my dad kept the boats in the water till nearly Thanksgiving.
When we heard the 1st hard freeze was comin', we would yank them out.
