So, I was talking with the OP about the baffle. If you buy the baffle from FAE, what does that gain you? Either A) you can't hook up the FAE to the OEM baffle and have to use the FAE one......or B) you can't hook up the FAE to OEM baffle and you can just omit it or use the FAE supplied one. If you gain a little HP without one and it doesn't make it louder it seems like a no brainer to save the money.
Can some one help me on what I'm missing?

The baffle is a stock item. You will want to remove it. It’s inside a piece of 4” pipe which is just before your through-hull. And in my case, was damn near impossible to remove. So, you buy a piece of 4” pipe from FAE that doesn’t have a baffle in it and replace the stock one that does.
That’s all it is. If you’re able to cut the stock one out, you can save the money by not buying their piece of pipe. Mine was welded in like a MF so it was easier just to replace with new pipe.

No. You can install it with the factory baffle undisturbed if you want to. But taking it out is a good idea and makes sense.

The factory baffle is quite restrictive.
