DIY Suck Gate
Apparently, some of the forum threads from a couple of years ago are not indexed properly for the search function. I tried to find my previous post through search but was unable. I wanted to put this on the top and make it searchable because so many people ask about suck gate plans. This model has worked incredibly well for me and many of my friends. It is by no means the only method of construction. Paddle dimensions are certainly up for debate as well. I can say that this has worked well enough for me in my 07 XLV that I haven't felt the need to make another one. I hope others will chime in their designs like we did a couple of years ago. Unfortunately those old posts are not showing in the search. (As an aside, google works very well if you put in your search terms and add 'site:www.moomba.com') These are stupidly easy to make. Hope this helps.

See pictures below, here is how I made mine. Super simple. All you need is a drill and some way to cut the cutting board (I used a table saw then tried to round out the edges with a jigsaw...which is why it looks all jagged and sloppy). My next version will have a cleaner cut on the cutting board (still works just fine though, its only aesthetics). Just lay it all out, mark the holes with a sharpie, drill, and assemble.
Parts:
One cutting board $8.99 (large enough to make about 3 gates):

I built this one but for some reason the suction cups won't stick to my boat. Sticks fine on my buddy's 2010 LSV though, so I gave it to him.
About $35 in parts:
Handle/suction cups, $14 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007VL3CB0..._zGeZzb1R7MG1S
24 x 12 x 1/2" HDPE, $17 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ILHWAM..._9IeZzb5GJ002X
2x 4" stainless machine screws, washers and locknuts
8x stainless wood screws
(I don't remember the exact sizes of the hardware)
I cut everything with a jigsaw and hole saw, and cleaned up all the edges with a trim router with roundover bit. The first couple pics were before test fitting on the boat. In the last pic, I removed the bottom corners to clear a body line on the side of the boat. It's set at about a 60° angle.2019 Supra SL450

How long is the main board? Ordered parts and trying to make but curious dimensions. Thanks in advance.
