I have not purchased or replaced one, but in my 08 LSV it had a twist on lock, and it could be pulled right out, and i had a plug to replace it. Its like this so when you tow the boat its not spinning due to the wind, which can damage it.
My new 13 Mojo seems to be the same way with a replacement plug but i haven't removed it.Malo <--- Means--Evil or Mean One. This explains a lot.

Mine too is broken. I have Star Gazer PP so I just use that for speed, but I did try to look into a replacement for the stock paddle and found this:

I haven't done anymore research on this but I have had it saved in my favorites for quite some time, just one of those things that keeps getting on the back burner. But this one is Temp/Speed/Depth, sounds like all you want in speed so maybe a little over kill.2004 Moomba LSV Blue
