Boat security systems
So I'm just researching and thought y'all could help. I was thinking a paging car alarm but for most situations I think something more like this will work:
http://www.thehomesecuritysuperstore...w-alarm-p=3644
Then they have ones that call cell phones with a SIM card and have six month batteries in them. That would work for those who have them moored or in a storage facility.
Lets see if there's some viable cost effective options to thwart these a-holes!-Jake

Around the home, I would think something as simple as a wifi setup that could alert you on your phone, computer or tablet.

That is an exact replica of the Harbor Freight version (or vice versa) I just put up over the weekend, but HF is at least $10 cheaper. If you get the same channels you can have more than one sensor report to the same monitor as well.
I'd be interested in a paging system perhaps - but my monthly cell phone family plan is already ridiculous with 4 kids + me.So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

My home security installer told me that the stickers and signs around the house would deter 90% of the people.
Of course after he sold me the system..
Get stickers and signs (Protected by ADT security and video cameras) or get a pitbull cage right next to the boat storage....LOLA Day at the Lake...Priceless

I'm actually considering the signs as well as an outdoor camera or two. Might as well just do it once and be done.
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

Spoke to a deputy tonight to file my report because the stupid on-line system was so user friendly that it rejected my first attempt.
At any rate, his advice was to use anything that creates a lot of noise. Said camera systems seem like a great idea but in reality you get a crummy low light shot of some dude in a hoody, coming in, and then carrying your stuff out. Rarely ever leads to a good id or arrest. He also suggested the fake cameras as a good deterrent along with the signs as long as they are newer looking and not some cheesy plastic thing that obviously looks fake.
Other thing was, he said check out Radio Shack. All kinds of motion sensors with lights, alarms, etc. and pretty reasonably priced. So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?
