Trailer Runway Lights
I was looking at the Axis website and noticed that they have an option to add runway lights to your trailer for loading the boat at night. And since they are using a Boatmate trailer i checked there site to see if it is an aftermarket option, which it is. I am thinking about adding this to my trailer because I have a tendency to be out at night after dark and think it would help with loading the boat. I was wondering if anyone has this on there trailer and what your thoughts are on it.

These guys have a DIY runway light kit. Pretty cool upgrade.

The light kits require you to drill into the trailer rails...don't know if I like that idea. Possibilities of exposing the trailer to more rust potential.

The owl lighting kit has a sequencer that makes the lights flash front to back and back to front. It has a speed controller as well so you can control the sequence rate. You can get them in differetnt colors as well.
Grant "G" West did a kit similar to this on his trailer and did a post on WW a while back.

Newty - Thanks for the links.
Adding more holes in the trailer is a slight concern, but I am pretty sure I can seal them well enough to keep water out. I thinking this will be one of my mods this winter. Just need to find which runway lights I want to go with.Nate

Agreed that is pretty cool and would gain some major Pimp Points in my book for anybody who does the mod

These are on my trailer.
This is 2-6' strips that start in front of the wheel and go past the curve of the trailer. On 1 side I have 3 white sections and 2 red sections to make 6' and have the same on the other side.
If you look down the right side you can tell they are white/red/white/red/white
This pic is with 4 - 3' white sections on the trailer, 2 sections in front of the wheel and 2 sections behind the wheel.
