I haven’t been to the dealer in a while but that’s shocking! 2023 must have had a huge price hike. 2022sl550 with every single box checked Dec 2021 purchase date was 230k msrp and 190 otd
We ordered it with the 13.9 prop. Since they went from a 1.5 trans to a 1.7 in 2022 it was running way too many rpms. 4200 or so. The 575 pulls the 17” prop no issues. I honestly think they should...
The old sl450 we ran a 16x13.9. 4-4300 rpms all the time with a medium crew. Our new sl we are able to run the 16x17. Usually 35-3600 rpms
I have a banks idash in my truck and one of my parameters is density altitude.
The lake we frequent in Nebraska is 2800’ elevation. However even in the cool mornings we see a DA of 5500-6000’....
Altitude is a killer for boats. Our local dealer won’t order a makai without a 450 in it. I’ll be honest our new sl has the 575 and it is barely adequate in Pueblo, altitude 5k feet but density...
That’s crazy!
Colorado is a $70 fee for the boat and trailer registration is $125 per year.
Maybe need to register it at a buddy’s house in a different state if possible
How does the boat run with the 400 in it? Did you get the 16x13.9” prop?
I would just order it with the boat, especially if you get a summertime build. It’s a hassle to install afterwards and then warranty etc.
My friend just built a 23 se at the dealer. Base price is approximately 15% higher than a 2022 so keep that in mind. The builder doesn’t currently reflect the pricing correctly
I really think it’s pretty similar to precovid.
Dealers in our area are 15-17% off Supra and about 5-7% off moomba
This prop is almost identical in performance to the newer Supra 16x13.9. Under 5000’ elevation there was no difference in performance. Would make someone an excellent backup!
[QUOTE=haknslash;379710]I’m not seeing over 200k quotes for 2023 SA or SL from my dealer. What specs are y’all seeing these builds at? Even if I opt for 450 engine, thrusters, etc the build is not...
My buddy just wrapped his July build on a 23 Se. Essentially has all the updated features Of the 22SL but updated ballast to 4700 lbs. The shocker is the 2023 msrp prices. His build price was 271k...
For sale is an extra prop that I had as a second back up. It’s a 16x15 considered supras heavy surf or load prop. Excellent condition no dings or scratches. To your door $600
I believe it’s mainly done in the ecm with tuning. It adds about 55ft lbs of torque. I had a 20 sl450 and now a 22sl550. The new sl is balanced different than the old one seems to take more power to...
I should have mentioned. I absolutely would go with the 450 minimum in the new sl. Its almost identical in weight and ballast to the SE. at my typical elevation of 2900 feet the 550 is working when...
13.9 without a doubt. We run that on a sl550 at 5k feet and the 16x17 at lower elevation. I almost all pecan Interior with just black accents. I went with black thread. I would Match the thread...
I’ve had 2 new boats in the last 3 years. A 2020 sl450 and now a 2022 sl550. Both of them got 1k in lead with less than an hour run time and we surfed loaded up from the get go. Traded the 450 with...
There is a safety switch in the throttle that tells when it’s in neutral. My thought is that would be the issue. Maybe try cycling the throttle back and forth and try again. My 2022 sl had this issue...
I installed it with some gorilla spray adhesive. It seems to be holding up well. I’m shocked your new one is louder. Our 20 was so much louder inside even before we did the extra sound proofing in...
Swanson lake in southwest Nebraska is our typical spot.
With our old sl450 it seemed like 8.5-9 of pitch was about right. With the new sl the wave seems the same at 7.5 as it does at 9. The...
I wanted to follow up again on this thread. We tried the 16x17 prop again at our main summer lake which is 2900’ elevation. The prop worked out great here partially due to elevation but also lead...
I never went above 25 mph. Even for a couple mph on top it wouldn’t be worth it. With 4 people in the boat, 1000lbs lead and all ballast full I had to move a couple people up front to get to our 11.6...
I just wanted to update this thread. I did go ahead and purchase the acme 3499 16x17. We were able to run it Friday at Pueblo which is 5000’ elevation. Surfing Rpms still 37-3800. Boat had a much...
