Looks like a good idea, but try to find something with better reviews. Also not sure how waterproof it needs to be if you install on the dash. We put the phones, wallet, etc. in the glovebox and my Mojo has a usb port in there for charging. The radio controls the music via bluetooth so no loss.Quote:

Im not going to lie wireless charging is terrible on a boat. You never leave your phone there long enough to get any real charge. Every bump of the water doesn't disconnect it but it will kinda jack with your bluetooth giving you a slight delay. Then the issue of the sun. Its a neat feature to have but I plug into a usb charger right beside my wireless one haha

Just alternative for us that don't have the pads built in is to use quick chargers in stead of the usb ports or cheapy chargers. I can go from 0 to 100 pretty quick, like an hour. :)Quote:

Mine would definitely overheat. I now have 5% window tint and it would probably be fine however gotta admit I could see the Supra one being way more useful do to you don’t have to remove the phone from the charger to use and it should hold it there instead of jumping around

Yeah, I hate that thing. I always think I can cram my phone in there and it winds up on the floor about 15 seconds later. Worse yet, is on our 2016 Moomba, there is a cubby adjacent to the cupholders that goes back behind the side panel. Put your phone in the cupholder or on the block there and it is likely to fall into the cubby. I lost my phone back there but was able to find it thanks to my apple watch. My sister-in-law had hers slip back there while we were at Lake Powell and thought she had just left it in the car. Didn't find it for another 2 weeks.Quote:

I see they make a flat version also.
Not sure if you have the switch in the cubby, but I don't. Could replace that pointless piece with flat ABS plastic and then mount the charger there. Out of the sun, close to the radio for BT.

Here’s my install. Used one of the pocket mounting screws and one additional screw. The unit is very sturdy, charges through my case, and holds the phone very secure.
Very happy with it. If I decide I ever don’t want it I can buy a new pocket or just run the screw back in. Very well built. Can rotate it 90 degrees also.
Will see how it work with the sun on it. I don’t foresee any issues. I can still tilt it flat or even down out of the sun if I need to.
