That looks great!

I have the same 720 bags but mine are not vented. Did you ever fill and use yours before they were vented? I was curious if they were worth venting? Was considering venting mine this off season, this season i have just been keeping one of the fittings hand tight and manually venting if needed.
Thank you Z28ke for putting this together! You definitely saved me a lot of time and gave me some great ideas doing the upgrades on my Max.
Hey z28ke, do you have any video of the bass from your sub?
I want to add a box to the back of mine and wondering if the free air WS sub will sound decent or should i plan to toss it? I'm not looking for massive bass but would like to feel it more in the cockpit.
Brings me to another point. Have you had to add any sound deadening to under the dash? I've noticed that even with the stock free air WS sub the dash can develop a rattle on the top. i want to say it comes from under where the cell phone pocket / usb cubby is. I haven't really looked under there to see if I can make it more quiet under there.
I’m not a audio expert but even with your sub being a FA I think it would benefit greatly from a box enclosure behind it. I don’t have any good vids that I recall, and doubt my cell could capture it accurately.
I’m also thinking a box might help with the rattle from the dash you are hearing, but if not it would be easy to get up in there and figure out where it’s coming from and secure it.
P.s. Kilmat provides comparable sound deadening/attenuation as Dynamat at a much cheaper price. Look for it on Amazon. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f1f48d6db3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...48c3ebf9c9.jpg

I know you did this 2 years ago but there is a lot of good info in this thread so first of all thanks for that! On your box that you mounted to the back side of the wall for your sub, is it sitting on the floor or is it "floating"? I am wanting to do the same thing to the factory sub on my Makai but I feel like the box will be floating.
Been working on the boat again lately!
Installed 4 taco marine fender holders:

Removed the pads from the swim platform, transom, gunnels and bow in preparation for installing my Gatorstep kit. Found out a plastic razorblade WILL scratch the gel coat. No big deal since I had already planned on buffing the entire top half of the boat before putting the pads on. Also found out a DA polisher is not very effective at cutting gel, getting handy with a harbor freight rotary now! Going to go back over it with the DA to remove the swirls from the rotary.
Here is a pic of the “bluesteel” Gatorstep, goes perfect with the boat in my opinion:

I’ll post up some more pics when I finish the install
That blue steel looks good!
3M makes an adhesive remover wheel that you can chuck into a cordless drill if you haven't taken your old swim platform adhesive off yet.
It's like a big rubber eraser, kinda messy flinging goobers but it makes for a quick job.

Dang, I actually have one but didn’t think to use it! Once I realized the plastic blade left tiny scratches I just used gasoline on a rag and rubbed the hell out of it, took some time but did the trick. Gasoline seemed to work better than acetone or mineral spirits for me if anyone is wondering/future reference.
I think I spent WAY more time removing old adhesive than installing the new kit.
Definitely a PITA. [emoji28]

Yea that adhesive is no joke!
I also installed a acme 2419:

I’ve never used an actual prop puller to change props in the past but figured I might as well order one to make it easier and save time. Not sure if others have needed to, but I had to do a little grinding on it to get it to line up right:

Nice. I bought the harmonic puller. I couldnt believe how easy it works.
Such a great thread z28ke. You were the first person I got advise from when I purchased my boat. I think Im done modifying it for awhile lol. I pretty much copied you, with some adds. This weekend I put a sealed box with a 10" kicker in the dash, and a ported 12" on the amplifier/battery side. I also plumbed the WM bow bag to the 2 front pumps, and it worked great yesterday. I now have 6200lbs of ballast that auto fills.
Rest of the pics of the bow bag
Oh man....3 of us were taking turns about every 10mins. Such limited space, and very uncomfortable. Our arms are all scratched up. My buddies kept telling me they have sweat equity now......automatic invites lol. After everything we went through, if it hadnt of worked, we might of set the boat on fire lol. I had sent my design to WMs, and to the Dealer, and both gave me a thumbs up, so I was pretty confident it would work.

Yup we need to see wave pics with the bow bag! What prop are you running and any issues at your elevation DNIXD99?
Right now Im running the 2419 at 3600-3900 RPMs (11.5-12mph), but I just ordered the 2943. I could care less about top speed. I prefer the gas savings, and less wear on the motor. Im also surfing a lake that white caps often lol. You have to get out there at 7am on summer weekends.
Finished up the Gatorstep, at least the pieces I’m going to do for now. Have a few more to install next winter but it’s time to get her on the lift for the summer!
Everything fit great except I had to do a lot of trimming on the pieces that go in front of the windshield.

Went ahead and mounted the swim ladder too

Man, that gatorstep install looks really good. Color matching looks OEM. Nice job. I could never take on a job like this. Mostly because of removing the old pads and cleaning the old glue. I would prolly wreck my gel finish to the point of no recovery.
Just one comment, you should've had them put "Murder Max" on 'the swim platform, that would've killed it (get it, pun intended)
I love the ladder idea! Did you have to recess the bolts or nuts on the top side to have the gator step lay flat? It looks really good!
Thank you for the compliment! It’s a lot darker than what came on the boat which was impossible to keep clean, plus being a 2018 it didn’t have the pieces around the top surfaces of the bow. I thought long and hard about “murder max” but decided against it for resale purposes, even though I don’t have any intentions to sell/upgrade for a while.
I can’t take any credit for that as a few others here have already done it, once I showed my wife a picture of one she said “yep”.
I didn’t drill through it. I just used some 1” stainless steel screws from the bottom and put some marine sealant/adhesive on the threads to hopefully keep them in there. Seems like that has worked for others.
Not a boat mod but my wife had this made for the boat dock:

Hey MM, been looking at the taco marine and found these:
https://www.boatoutfitters.com/stain...der-lock-cleat.
Question, how big is the threaded portion on the one's you installed?. This one requires a gaping 3/4" hole to be drilled into the hull. Is that correct? Did u install a different size? I mean, I'm ok if that is what it is, just want to make sure before I commit. Seems like a pretty big hole. And the receiver base measures 1.5". That's pretty big. My buddy has phender pro's in his MC and I don't remember them being that big.
For anyone interested, I found these quick release fender holders. They are a little smaller but also require a smaller hole drilled into the hull. Hole size is 5/8" vs 3/4". The base is 1" vs 1.5 " on the TACO. You could drill these with a 5/8" drill bit, prolly harder to chip gel coat with a bit over a hole saw, I think.
A little cheaper too.
Has anyone seen these or purchased from this site. It seems legit.Found it on google search, and we all know how anything on google has to be 100% legit!:)

Now that the boat is home for the winter it’s time for a good detail, so I procrastinated a bit and cut the tabs off the engine tray for easier removal as seen on some of the new boats:

I used this pic someone posted on the forum for reference:

That's a great idea, now you don't have to pop out the struts to remove the storage bins.
I should do that with my over-engine tray.
Well done sir!

Thanks, dealing with the struts was a hassle. Hopefully now I’ll be more likely to check the oil regularly lol.
Dang, not on my 2021 Craz it isn't. Guess i will be modifying my tray this weekend. it is a pain to get out as it is.
