Again, new to the Moomba Family. Manual on 08 Lsv says penzoil 15w40 marine oil. Can't find anywhere local who sells or can order in. Can order online but thought I would ask what you all are running in your boats? Thanks

Many of us run Rotella 15w40 which you can find at walmart. It's labeled as diesel oil, but don't worry it works the same.

always bought mine on a fall or spring discount through bakesmarine.com. I used the Rotella last year due to easier sourcing.

I used to use Rotella, but now just order the 3 pack of 1 gallon Pennzoil jugs from Amazon for ~$50. On a price per oz basis it beat what I was paying for the Rotella. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C43BMQW/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_0agrvb1540D4S

I do the same, ships free with Prime too.

Mobil 1 15w50. Cheap at Walmart in 5qt containers, recommended by Indmar staff.

Thank you! You also use the same oil in the v drive?

No. Pennzoil sae 30 in the v drive. Another vote for rotella non synthetic. I believe the manual says synthetic is ok only after 100 hours or something like that fyi.

I use SAE 30 as well in the V-Drive, as recommended by Walters. It might just be me but I think the Royal Purple SAE 30 runs a lot quieter than conventional SAE30. I also run Royal Purple's ATF in the transmission.

What specific year and motor do you have?

Sorry. It's a 03 outback

I found some 25w-40 marine oil.
May be better for our location as it gets up to 30-40 degrees outside and the boat sits in the sun

Not sure of your location, but I used Shell Rotella 15w40 for many years.

In the summers of TN we have high 80s and 90s F, but not quite consistent 100F/40C

I do not see 25w-40 oil around here - but I think that is geared more towards sterndrives, outboards, or 4 strokes.

Since you probably have a 325 (GM 350 block), I would probably look for another option - but not sure what is available for you based on where you live.
