Default Impeller tool, skip the zip ties

3d printed an impeller sleeve, versus doing the zip tie method.

Look at the indents left from the zip ties on the factory or dealer installer piece

It lasted a season, so im sure the indents had negligible affect, but either way i thought i would make a tool and skip the zip ties.

Twist the lubed impeller into the sleeve, slide into pump housing, done.

also, if anyone is wondering what the impeller P/N is its Johnson 09-812B-1 (2022 mojo w/400 raptor)

the 4 screws that hold the cover on are M5-.8x8mm ... if you want to switch to a thumb screw 10mm is fine.

How does this ease install? I typically just lube and twist into the pump housing, no zip tie required.

no, just sharing ideas. i figure anyone who can 3d print can make something close to the same since it is a simple design.

compared to your method, not much of a time saver since you are going thru the same motions, just eliminates the risk of cutting a fin on the edge of the housing, which i assume is a risk or the factory wouldnt have done the zip tie method.

Well , I learned something new today……..my impellers only lasted 3 to 5 years using nothing other than my hands to install for the last 22 years. Maybe now I’ll get 6 to 8 years out of an impeller.

Nice job on, love the innovation. I've actually never even heard of the zip tie method lol. I with Larry on this one, just some lube and it slides in no problem.
