Cool Lake Powell (Bullfrog Area) beaches?

    Hello all,

I am taking off to Lake Powell this weekend, launching from Bullfrog. Just put new shoes on the trailer, and new calipers too!

We have a houseboat rented, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on good beaches to post up for a week. Hopefully have enough room to play beach volleyball! I haven't been to Powell for years, so I feel like I'm a newbie to Powell again.

Any suggestions or advice will be well received! Thanks in advance.

Don't remember the name of this arm, but it's close to the marinas and has good beach spots. We normally go late August and the traffic isn't bad.

That's halls creek bay and is where we like to go a lot. It has good beaches all around but particularly on the south/ west side, but they are popular so be sure to get the moomba out there first to nab the good one. The nice thing about the bay is the proximity to bullfrog for fuel/ supplies/ etc but it is still secluded, as it is not open to bullfrog bay. You have to wind through the opening to the main river (opposite halls creek ramp) and it really cuts the chop from the main river.

    Definitely my go to option.

Moki canyon is also great. It is north a few miles. After you leave bullfrog heading north (actually east) it is the first large arm on the right. You have to follow it a long way to get to the nice spots, but well worth it, once you get there.
