Default 12V Plug in place of Light Socket

For those of you that have replace the rear light socket with the 12V accessory plug (as the light is located on the tower) - where did you find it?

Thought I would try and save myself some time in buying one.

Thanks in advance for the help!

holes are slightly different than the light socket, two vs. three you will have a hard time finding the holes to match but they will cover the hole.

cab did this upgrade, search his mods foe pics

Thanks jmvotto! I remember seeing several doing the upgrade and this is what I remember one of them looking like. I think "they" bought it from their dealer but can't remember who!

I did that upgrade last summer as well. Poped the light holder out, poped the new 12v socket in, i had to drill 1 hole to center it, then wires bolted directly to the new socket. I do have to turn the Nav lights on to make it work but thats ok as this way its switched and no worry of water being in it causing a problem.

That's exactly what I'm looking to do? Where did you end buying your 12v assessory plug? I might just go with the one on overtons?
    Thanks Mike!

    viking,

Below is a link to my original post on this mod:

I got mine from the Rinker dealer in Beaverton who is now out of business. Check out your local boat dealer or boat parts store (West Marine for example). They should have it and with shipping on such a cheap item if you buy online, you are better off buying local.
