Most people opt to put in the passenger side cubby. It's dry, out of the way, and close to the battery(ies).

Nice....but on my outback, I don't have that wall you fixed the amp to......I only have à small panel attached to the boat hull....so i'm afraid to drill it at that location...

did you fixed the amp to the ''wall'' of the boat ? or did you install a new wall. If yes, how did you fixed the new wall?

Not sure what Jfox did but I've seen several guys remove a small piece of carpet where the hull is, glue wooden/plastic blocks to the hull and then use those blocks as a place to mount an amp panel.

Creating a panel for the amp, opposed to screwing it to the hull will save you time in the cubby and possibly save you from any issues. A local shop around here screwed an amp to that outside wall and sent a screw through the hull of an X2.

I used a panel that goes across the back of the cubby, supported by blocks that were screwed to the floor or the bow seat back. The rack on the right side I did actually screw to the fiberglass but I think I'd go the block route if done again.

LOL! Ain't that the truth. You guys have me thinking about relocating my amps and making a new board.

Similar to the above suggestions, I cheated a little. One side is anchored into the venting channel using L shaped brackets attached to the amp board. On top I made a bracket that ties into one of the tower mounts or was it the cleat mounting bolt. Can't recall but it works, hides wiring and doesn't move.

Did the same on the bottom and anchored them to the floor. Nothing is stuck to the hull side on mine.

Those pics are older but hopefully you get the idea. When I redid it a year or two ago I used gray galvanized L brackets and tucked them in tighter so the carpet lays over it better and covers any trace.
So when is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in?

thanks all........removing some carpet on the vent channel and glue blocks to received the amp panel will be the best option...thanks again !
