Dog Lovers
So my wife and I just got a new yellow lab puppy last month for christmas. We've always wanted Lab's...great family dogs, water dogs, and hunting dogs. We are definately planning on bringing him along on the boat this summer. To anyone out there who brings dogs along on the boat...besides keeping their claws clipped, is there anything else you would suggest to prepare. Either for the dog or for the boat so it doesn't get damaged. We will probably also get a life jacket for him since we do spend a lot of time in the water. Thanks.

Either put booties on him or Soft Paws covers on his nails. Both work well. The biggest problem your gonna have with a lab is chewing!

Haha...yeah...my bad....here he is when we first got him. His name is Hunter. He is already half-again as big. He is going to be HUGE when he gets full grown! These were taken when he was about 6 weeks old.

Just walk them on the road or trim the nails---other than wet hair sticking to everthing, the boat will survive. Saw a black lab at the Atlanta jam that had pink nail covers and they were very soft for the seats and stuff--dog didnt even care about them after the 1st time the owner said.

I saw this post last year and per Razzmans recommendation I bought the clear Softpaws. We have tried everything to protect the interior even going as far as making custom seat covers. They worked well untill they got wet. The Softpaws worked great I put them on in the parking lot before launching on Friday .
It only took about 5 Min's for all 16 nails. My dog doesn't even know he has them on walking, running and swimming no problem. He stepped on my wife's foot and it didnt even hurt. I think they are the answer I highly recommend them. Thanks Razzman

As for dogs i have alway's had one type or another. two years ago i had my long time friend put down as she came down with cancer>>>>>erg. Since then my wife and i got a pair of true labradoodles one boy and one girl, got the lil boy as the two ladies of the house were ganfing up on me. amazing dogs as my old girl was a lab sheapard cross.
love them to bits.
On another note seeing the nice harley brought tears to my eyes. last tuesday my father and two uncles were on a bike trip down south headed to mexico. in arizona very good friends of ours were traveling to scotsdale and the lead bike carrying best friends of the family..Jody and Frank Blew a tire.
Frank managed to get it slowed down to about 35mph when the bike bit in.they were both thrown from the bike......Frank broke his leg in three spots.
Jody Passed away.really great people.she will be missed.
Please check your tires.there is a shelf life. this doesn't always help as frank had a new set put on before departing Alberta. the bikes were trailerd to Vegas. he only had a few hundred miles on them.
PLEASE everybody have a safe summer.
