Atlanta Boat Show
Made it to the Atlanta Boat show yesterday. Nice show, but I had to rush through and didn't get as many photos as I had wanted. Show was definately smaller than years past and the big houseboats were missing altogether. Nice setups by Skier's Choice dealer, Atlanta Marine, and the Mastercraft and Malibu dealers. Natique dealer setup was lame, but prices were outstandingly high! Didn't get to meet anyone from SC, but I think they are scheduled to be there today.
While I still couldn't handle or justify the ridiculous prices on the Mastercraft, Malibu or Natique boats, I must admit that the attention they place on the details is fantastic. I know that the brushed aluminum, spoked steering wheels, glitter paint, wraps/graphics and quilted vinyl are all just window dressing but I like it. I can't tell you how disappointed I was to see the crappy little metal hinge handle in the Moomba boats for the center storage/ballast area.
Atlanta Marine had a demo of the new Supra digital dash. I wasn't a fan when it was first posted on the board, but I am now! Really pretty simple and it had to be done to compete with the other manufacturers.
Here are some pics.
Overall shot from the top deck of a $600k cruiser.
if you have $102k, this could be yours! Or, you could probably get 2 Moomba XLV's.

Are you serious you don't like the new center locket handle? That's the best upgrade on the interior of the 2010. I already ordered one fir 15.00. It uses 4 bolts and now I can fill my locker and that dam pin won't stick my bag. The worst upgrade IMO is the deletion on carpet by all the speakers, now it's just vynal and looks cheaper then normal.
When I get my new latch I'll post a few picks I think maybe you didn't get a good look at the benefit of it.Malo <--- Means--Evil or Mean One. This explains a lot.

Yeah, Mike, I'm serious. I sat in the boat (2010 OBV) for 10 mins looking at the thing. I thought it was surprisingly small and difficult to get a good grip on to lift the hatch. The metal on the "ring" of the handle appeared to be a cast piece that hadn't been smoothed, so it cut into my finger as I pulled up to look in the locker.

Thanks for the info. I am trying to decide whether to head up there today or Sunday. For some reason I cannot get the site to load on my laptop today as I wanted to check the schedule.

Both days are supposed to be lousy weather here, but you gotta plan around the NFL playoff games too!
I believe that the show is open Saturday 10am - 8pm and Sunday 10am - 5pm. There are a couple of places that you can get discount tickets (edit - discount tix @ Subway) or you can buy at the door for $9.Last edited by wolfeman131; 01-16-2010 at 03:32 PM.

About the pin... take it out, cut it down and redrill it because then it doesn't stick down past the recess of the door. It won't be pushed up by the bag but you can still get your fingers under it. When I messed with the ones at the boat show it felt like those loops were going to cut my finger when I pulled on them.
You guys notice the LSV doesn't have the hump on the floor under the helm this year?
Its about time thay changed that!
I do like the MB Quart stereo and remote as well. Thats a nice upgrade.
The new Supra tower is really starting to grow on me as well.
Thanks for the picks wolfman.Last edited by newty; 01-16-2010 at 07:00 PM.
