Just bought my first inboard boat. I was teaching the wife to load it on the trailer. Well when she was waiting for me to back down she managed to drift over into some shallow water and dinged up the prop when she put the boat in gear to take off. Each blade is dinged up on the edges. Do I need to replace this immedietly or can I run it with the prop this way?
How hard is it to change a prop and how much does a prop cost roughly speaking.

Yes, you can run with your prop like that, although if there is any vibration that can be bad on engine and transmission components.

Most props can be fixed at your local marina or dealership for less than the cost of a new one. A new prop runs about $300. I would recommend buying a new prob AND having your current one fixed to use as a spare.

It is fairly simple to remove the prop, but you do need a special tool to make it easier. My perticular dealership will remove and install a prop no charge.
