How about some December fun?

I barefoot skied, in Iowa ,this past Sat. Dec. 5th, 2009 at 33'f. water temp. and 34'f. air temp. All the coves are frozen over and the main channel at Lake Panorama is 50% iced over. 2 of us try to ski until the ice is too thick to be safe. Last year we went when the whole lake was frozen (7 miles) except about 3/4 mile stretch in the main bay. I've been in Waterski Magazine for hard core skiing. I think I loose a few brain cells everytime I ski in freezing water. However, they are the common sense brain cells, the fun brain cells keep multiply. You can see me on facebook under Matt Lukacs.

boat goes into storage late october. Been in mid april, waiting for the boat to get out. Ice left the week before. water high 30's low 40's cooooold ..... always a warm spot after a cold water run.

i'll do 50 with a dry suit. i've done high 50's and low 60's quite a bit with a shorty wetsuit.

i kind of have a formula: air temp plus water temp must equal 120 degrees.

Last Saturday, December 5, Ian and I did the "Polar Bear Ski" in Pontiac, MI.

34 degree water temp and about 30 degree air temp.

We (obviously) wore a drysuit, and yes...it was a complete blast!

I came from Canada and the farthest south I've moved so far is WI so I'm still OK with the cold water. Our ski Nov 9th water was 48, and I could of gone later but nobody to go with
