    Default Jabsco Ballast Puppy Alternative?

Simer makes a 12V reversible utility pump that is capable of 600 gph. Pump is about $50 a peice at Fleet Farm. Link is http://www.simerpumps.com/pdf/SIM567.pdf Seems to me that it could be used just like the Ballast Puppy, but a heck of a lot cheaper. What do you all think?

Sure. It's what I have. They are not ignition protected though.

Really!!! How well do they work? What kind of set up do you have? Is water from the bags able to leak past the pump? I know they don't have run dry protection, but their price is worth having to listen for when the pumps have the bags empty.

I now understand the ignition protection. However, I was not planning on putting the pumps in the engine compartment. I was going to place them in the storage compartment, like the '09 systems. Except, I would have the pumps placed towards the front of the compartment instead of in the rear, possibly one stern and two port.
The main thing I want to know is if these pumps will get the job done?
