The 340 is (EFI) Electronic fuel injection. The engine is computer controled it starts better, runs smother, has more power, and better fuel economy. If your going to upgrade the motor go with the 340.

I think the difference between the 320 and 340 is just horsepower. They are both efi, so you will both benifit from the things mentioned above. Also, the 340 will use more gas.

Both 320 and 340 are 5.7 GM block. 320 is a throttle body fuel injection. The 340 ads performance by using Mulit-port injection, high flow intake dry manifold, and Extreme Tuned Exhaust that increases torque and horsepower and fuel efficiency.

The 320 is throttle body injection, it has a intake with a piece that is similar to what is under a carburator, except the fuel and air intake is controlled by a cumputer not a carb. The 340 is multi-port injection, it distributes fuel and air directly into the intake system and to each cylinder. The difference in gas consumption is minimal.

Unless you plan on putting some serious weight in your boat for boarding you won't really notice the difference. Other than that, the biggest difference is $.

Both are 5.7 GM
There are 4 main differences between 320 vs 340.
1. Upgrade from throttle body injection to multiport injection (.
2. One piece returnless fuel rail.
3. High flow intake manifold - tuned runners.
4. Extreme Tuned Exhaust - tuned port design reduces backpressure, increases torque, horsepower, fuel efficiency, aluminum manifords save 80lb/engine, water cooled @flange. Real nice Sound but suttle.
Besides the little bump as stated above, I personally think the MPFI burns a little cleaner at idle over the TBI and you notice it when you wipe the boat down.

The 320 is EFI while the 340 is MPI. The 340 has 8 injectors and has a tuned ETX exaust system with aluminum mainfolds. Better throttle response and gas efficiency to sum it up.
