Packing Jam Nut Wrench...1-7/8
I have a VDrive and wanted a wrench. Could not justify $25+shipping on some I had found. I tried the spanner wrench and channel locks but the area is SO tight. Finally ran across this ebay posting. I brought one and cut the other end off of it. It will work for the tight space to tighten the jam nut. In fact I brought 2 hoping to grind the opening a little bigger to hold the packing nut while tighten the jam nut. It is label as "light torque" but I think it will be fine for what I intend to use it for. It was a tough one to cut with a hacksaw...

Great post! I just had to pay my marine mechanic half an hour's labour for another quick adjustment.
Is the main packing nut a 2" one?

I use this wrench from Sears. Works great on my 02 LSV which has hardly any room.

I have a 99 Mobius DD. I use a Medium sized pipe wrench on the packing nut and a channel locks on the jam nut. I just hate pulling the floor access all the time ...
