Low oil pressure?

At idle, my oil pressure is fine (around 40). In reverse, my oil pressure is fine. Once I start going forward, the pressure goes to practically zero and stays there until I get around 22 or so, then it is fine again. Plenty of oil on the dipstick, engine does not seem to be running hot.

Any ideas?

The dealer changed the oil at the end of the last season.... we've had the boat out three times since then. I wonder why an oil change would fix that?

For posterity's sake, we found the answer to the issue with the oil pressure. My auto mechanic hooked up another pressure gauge and discovered that the actual pressure was fine. He also cleared the gauge as being the trouble. Evidently, the sending unit is bad.

Thanks for the update. I'm having this same issue and I suspect its the OPSU as well.
