Default looking at doing a DIY bow filler cushion

Has anyone made their own? Looking for some design ideas before I start.

i was probably going to hit an upholstery shop for the actual cushion, but just looking for ideas for support to build underneath it.

You probably need to creat some kind of lateral rail(s) for it to sit on. Be careful if you will ever run with the cushion out. Make something that won't hurt if you fall into it. For example, grind all the pointy edges so they are rounded and stuff like that.

Spyder, I built mine out of Sea Deck( I think was the name) Its a marine plastic kinda like plywood , I also built it with a back on it to match the back rests... I used aluminum and built a reverse truss but it is way over kill. I would put in a couple pices of sea deck against the sides and allow the cusion to lay on it... Kind of like the stock one. the back rest works well to shut the windo against and block out the cold am air. And its not as bad as I thought it was going to be to step over when getting in and out?

I am thinking about it as well because I have a sac I sit there and would like to hide it. I am thinking about just getting some aluminum channels and fastening them to the fiberglass on the sides (and of course smooth the edges). Then cutting a panel of that Seadeck stuff or a sheet of PVC to slide into the channels. I will cut another piece a tad smaller that I will put the foam and vinyl on and then fasten that to the lower piece. I will probably use some sort of pin to hold it in place. This way, I can slide it in and out if I need and it will not blow out on the road. I have been contemplating making the rear portion of it fold up to make a backrest and windblock, but I am not sure yet.
