    Default propeller

    i have a 06 outback dd is there a differance in a 3 blade or 4 blade i ski,foot and wakesurf

    A four blade generally has different pitch and surface area which will give a better hole shot with the additional weight of ballast or if you carry a heavy load of peeps and gear. If not then it's probably not much of a gain especially if you ski & foot more than anything imo.

    There's probably a difference in hole shot when you're all ballasted up. I run the 3 blade- used to have 4 but crunched it up last year. I haven't noticed any real difference though and I'm running more ballast this year. The top end is a little higher with the 3 blade though. In the Outback I don't think it's that big a deal.

    Same should apply with a XLV v-drive right?

    The XLV is a much heavier boat, you'd want the 4-blade wakeboard prop for that boat.
