    Default Rebuild shops

    Another option for you is to have the existing starter or alternator (if that ever happens again) rebuilt. It will cost you about 1/3 the cost of a new one. If you still have your old starter you should have that one rebuilt and keep it as a spare. I had the same issue 3 years ago, bought a new starter and had the original one rebuilt. It went out on me two months ago and it was a quick replacement. 1 hour and back on the water!
