Default Wake plate guage not working 04 lsv

I was out at the lake yesterday and my wakeplate gauge started going the opposite way that the plate was. Then it just stopped working. I was looking at all the connections and they seem to be good. When I turn the ignition on the gauge will drop to the lowest point but when I adjust the plate it will not move at all. Any ideas?

Sounds like a ground wire to the gauge is loose or gone bad. Most gauges will goto one side or the other completely with a bad ground.

Ya I played with the ground and then decided that making a new ground wouldnt hurt then it worked like a charm.
