my first marathon
i ran my first marathon on Sunday. finished in 3:43.
i didn't really follow any traditional training plans, but used lots of things from different sources. i think the biggest weakness in my training was speed work. will do more of that for the next marathon.
now i can enjoy the summer on the water, as well as the mountain runs.

yah, i know. it wasn't really convenient for me to go to a track for 1/4 splits. i would do a 1-2 mile warm up then a fast 5k (22min +/-) for speed. i will do another marathon in the fall, and i will hit the speed seriously, maybe even try to qualify for boston? but that is taking a huge chunk of time out.
most of my regular runs were at about 8's depending on distance and if i was with anyone.
today i am feeling pretty good, can barely feel any discomfort, if the weather stays good, we are going to the lake wednesday night. hopefully it will be smooth enough to ski!
