Evogear has a steal on the 2008 Liquid Force PS3. $190 shipped. I think you would need the 137. You can pick up some 2008 LF Transit bindings on Ebay right now for around $120. Nice setup for around $310.

Your more than likely going to want a 140-144cm board. You probably could ride a 137 or so but for your size 140+ will ride a bit higher in the water.

Alot also depends on your style of riding too. My friend sometimes rides a 134 and he is 6'2 200+. Smaller board will be lighter and quicker for you. Longer boards could feel sluggish when turning. If you are just learning though then you might want to try a bigger board, since it will be easier on you for stability.

I have always been told bigger is better. More surface area for better pop. Everyone has their own though. 140 and up.

Thanks for the input, I tried a board that I bought for the kids and it took me quite a while to get my feet out of the bindings.

Bigger will also land softer. A continuous rocker board might be easier to learn on also. I think they are a little more forgiving then 3 stage boards. Not quite so "Bucky".

i agree with the other guy on checking wakeworld.com for the reviews and specs on the boards. length does make a big difference, but people also forget about width, fin configuration, and rocker which also play a big part on how the board reacts.

i think you'd be fine with a 137 - yes you are 6 feet tall, but only 170 lbs. i'm 5'8" and 175 and ride a 139, but i've also enjoyed riding both 135's and 138's.

i can't emphasize enough about reading rider reviews on a board to get a feel about how the board will track, edge, pop, and land.

Demo as many as you can, Or if your buddy's have boards ask for a set on them. Check around for Demo days put on by local shops.

I'm 6'2 220 and I ride a 140 Marius and love it. But it is a wide board you either love it or hate it.
